Who is not allowed to drink alkaline water?
Use of alkaline water has been linked to some safety concerns, especially if the water’s ph is higher than 9. The safety concerns include getting high levels of potassium in the blood, also called hyperkalemia. This condition is especially risky for people who have kidney disease. If you have healthy kidneys, drinking alkaline water in moderation is likely safe. However, it’s not a miracle liquid, either. People with kidney disease may find that the risks of drinking alkaline water outweigh any potential benefits.
