Where not to put a diffuser?
Don’t Place Near Doors or Windows It makes sense that the walls of a room would naturally retain any fragrance molecules in the air. So, when deciding what part of the room to place your diffuser, it’s best if you don’t put it near any doors or windows. On a nightstand or dresser, ideally a few feet away from your bed. Placing the diffuser on a bedside table is common and allows you to catch gentle whiffs of scent as you wind down. A dresser or shelf across the room also works well.
What happens if you leave a diffuser on all night?
You can leave a diffuser on all night. Continuous, hours-long diffusion may lead to dryness, headaches, or coughing—especially in small or poorly ventilated rooms. Short, timed sessions with breaks are safer. Inhalation and Diffusion Ideally, diffuse essential oils for 30-60 minutes on, then 30-60 minutes off. This is not only safer, but it’s also more effective as both our bodies and our nervous system habituate to essential oils after this period of time. For most customers, this happens within about 30 minutes, though the exact timing can vary based on factors like the amount of oil used and the humidity levels in your space. For optimal diffusion, we recommend adding the full 5 ml bottle of oil to your Diffusion Well. You should not use too much of an essential oil in a diffuser as it will make the diffused scent overwhelming. And if you use less than the recommended amount of the essential oil, it may not be enough to scent the entire space of yours.Small spaces: You can run your aroma diffuser for 15-30 minutes. It is the maximum time required to create a good scent in the room. Medium spaces: You can run your aroma for 30-60 minutes for a moderate scent is the right solution.
Is it safe to sleep in a room with a diffuser?
Is it OK to sleep with a diffuser on? While it’s safe to have an essential oil diffuser on during waking hours, you should actually turn it off while you’re asleep. That way, you won’t inhale too much of the essential oils and you also won’t run the risk of any unsafe electrical problems during the night. So, running a diffuser all night isn’t always recommended for continuous diffusion. Essential oils are potent, and prolonged exposure may lead to hypersensitivity or diminished effectiveness.
