What is similar to petitgrain?
Petitgrain has a similar scent to Neroli without being so polished. There are woody undertones and a floral scent. The oil is extracted from the leaves whereas Neroli is extracted from the Orange Blossom. Petitgrain in its natural form is an essential oil extracted from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium). The name petitgrain translates to little grain in French, reflecting its historical use of distilling from the small, unripe green oranges.
