What does Epimedium extract do for men?
Epimedium can enhance renal functions to improve sexual functions and can be combined with Western medicine in clinical practice. Age-related changes in psychological, physical, and sexual functions in men are partially explained by testosterone deficiency [63,64]. Horny Goat Weed comes from the Epimedium plant. It contains a natural substance called Icariin. Lab tests show that Icariin also blocks PDE5. However, researchers have found that Icariin is about 80 times less potent than Sildenafil [2].Although still preliminary, there’s new evidence to support the idea. Epimedium, the suspected active component of horny goat weed, appears to increase blood flow and improve sexual function, or act as a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, similar to some drugs used for ED.
