Can we mix all essential oils together?
Well, probably not. In most cases, essential oil blends are formulated for one primary purpose and adding more than one essential oil to your blend could take away from the blend’s intended purpose. Diffusing is a safe, effective way to enjoy essential oils. Creating diffuser blends is a wonderful, fun way to enjoy a unique aromatic experience, while also benefiting from multiple essential oils.
What is the best oil for homemade diffuser?
Sweet almond oil, safflower oil, and fractionated coconut oil are other options, as is a mix of vodka and water. If you want the best “throw,” or strongest scent, use a reed diffuser base — it’s specifically formulated to thin out the essential oils so they can more easily flow up the reed. For longer-lasting fragrance, mix in a teaspoon of witch hazel or alcohol to help disperse the oil. Shake well before each use and spritz around the room as needed.
