What is the Cade oil?
Cade oil is a dark, faintly aromatic oil which is distilled from the branches and wood of Juniperus oxycedrus. Although this oil is known to have toxic effects related to its content of phenols, cade oil continues to be used in folk medicine. Cade, also known by several other common names including Juniper Tar and Prickly Juniper, is a variety of juniper that is native to regions of the Mediterranean. How to use Cade?
Cade oil is taken by mouth or applied to the skin for many different conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these uses. Using cade can also be unsafe. Some studies in the lab show that cade extracts can kill bacteria, decrease swelling (inflammation), and improve blood sugar levels. For Hair and Scalp: Massage cade oil into the scalp before washing your hair to combat dandruff and soothe scalp irritation. Leave on for at least 30 minutes or overnight for deep nourishment.Benefits of Cade Oil As well as being anti-septic, it also works as an exfoliator and can help to reduce dandruff by sloughing away flakes. What is Cade used for?
Cade oil is applied to the skin for itching; psoriasis; eczema; seborrhea; and skin conditions caused by parasites, hair loss, scalp conditions, and cancers. It is also used as a germ-killer in wound dressings. In manufacturing, cade oil is an ingredient in skin creams and ointments, and in anti-dandruff shampoos. Cade is primarily used for it’s anti-inflammatory properties on the body and as such can be useful in massage treatments for both athletes and those that have sustained muscle injury.
