What is Cnidium extract used for?
The dried rhizomes of Cnidium officinale are used as herbal drugs in the treatment of pain, inflammation, menstrual disturbance, and antivitamin deficiency disease, and also act as a blood pressure depressant. Rhizome-bearing herbs have been at the core of traditional medicine systems worldwide for thousands of years. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), rhizomes such as Zingiber (ginger), Coptis, and Pinellia are used to warm the interior, dispel cold, move Qi, dry dampness, and resolve phlegm.According to the Committee on Herbal Medicinal Products (HMPC), dried powdered ginger rhizome can be applied for the prevention of nausea and vomiting in motion sickness (well-established use).
