How does inner light counseling work?
Our Counseling Practice Our focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. We are trauma informed clinicians and here to help you move forward. Broadly speaking, counseling tends to be focused on one specific issue and considered a short-term treatment. You may learn coping techniques and problem-solve the issue together. Psychotherapy tends to treat a broader range of issues and more complex problems.A licensed therapist works with clients to explore patterns of thought and behavior, past experiences, and deeper emotional struggles. While counseling addresses immediate concerns, therapy is designed to help with more complex mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or personality disorders. It depends on what you’re seeking support for. If you’re navigating stress, relationship issues, or emotional changes, a counsellor can be a great fit. If you need a diagnosis or are dealing with conditions like anxiety, trauma, or depression, a psychologist may be more appropriate.Counselors focus on specific issues with solution-oriented support; therapists apply psychotherapy to address ongoing patterns; and psychologists use advanced diagnostics and testing to treat complex mental health disorders.

Therapy usually takes multiple visits, and the first session won’t solve all problems immediately. The frequency of therapy will largely depend on individual needs. Many people go to therapy once a week, and some might even go twice a week if they are dealing with acute distress or have intensive therapy goals. However, as they progress, these sessions may become less frequent.
