Does holistic health really work?
Holistic health does incorporate complementary therapies that have been scientifically proven to work, and like alternative medicine, it focuses on wellness and prevention, rather than just treating diseases. Holistic health is an approach to wellness that simultaneously addresses the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual components of health. As a field of practice, holistic medicine draws from many disciplines, religions, and cultures to heal people, communities, and even the environment. The findings of this research dissertation are that New Age holistic health roots are deeply embedded in Eastern mystical religious philosophies, such as Hinduism, Buddhism and Taoism, as well as the occult.
